AC/DC's Brian Johnson takes Daytona by storm

Look out anyone who thought this 64 year-old would be a push-over at the 50th 24 hours of Daytona which was run on January 28-29th 2012.

Brian Johnson, who, according to his book is a self-confessed petrol-head and a total car maniac, ran the race of his dreams – and came in at a respectable 32nd overall. Not a bad position at all for someone in their first pro race at 64.

Not only that, but Brian is expected to appear in an upcoming edition of the BBC’s Top Gear and will also host a television show on HSR racing, oh…and did we forget to mention that Brian is also hoping to be in the studio before the summer to record AC/DC’s next album following on from the release of the immensely successful ‘Black Ice’? That album reached the number one position in the charts of 29 countries, and also has the distinction of being Columbia Records’ biggest debut album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data for Billboard in March 1991.

2012 is certainly off to a good start, AC/DC’s Australia’s Family Jewels Exhibition is due to hit Seattle at the end of April for a 5-month-long stint concluding on September 29th at the Experience Music Project Museum, and a reminder to everyone stateside that the EMP Museum is the only U.S. venue to host the exhibition.

Take it away Brian…
